G-Zorb is a board made from a high density polyester fibre or PET. G-zorb is 9mm thick and is ideal for cutting by a CNC process which lends itself to many creative designs. The excellent acoustic properties of G-Zorb coupled with a strong visual appeal make for a winning combination.
Our hexagonal tiles are a stunning combination of form and function. The hexagon shape is borrowed from nature and reminds us of our friends the bees who instinctively build the inner construction of their hives in the hexagon pattern.
Shape
The hexagonal shape doesn't lead your eye in a particular direction, this gives you the perfect opprtunity to break free from predictable, boring grid lines.
Texture
The tiles can be installed against the wall with an air gap, this enhances the sound absorbing properties and creates a pleasing sense of depth.
Tile Thickness
G-Zorb is only 9mm however the depth is adjusted depending on the application for example:
1. Suspended: If G-Zorb is suspended as a cloud or baffle then there will be a large airspace behind it
2. When G-Zorb is installed up against a wall then we typically create an airspace of between 25 - 50mm however this is customisable.
Layout
The hex tiles can either be used in a variety of ways, here are just a few idea to get your creative juices flowing:
✪ With an equal space between each tile
✪ Flush up against each other
✪ Used to completely cover a ceiling area
✪ Installed in groups / clusters. Many different patterns are possible.
Sound Absorbtion
The hex tiles offer excellent sound absorption. The more tiles are used in the room - the more noticable the sound dampening effect will become. The noise reduction coefficient will vary depending on the size of the airspace behind the G-Zorb and whether or not we use any additional backing. The NRC typically ranges between NRC 0.67 - 1.0 which is customisable depending on your requirements.
Complementary
The hex tiles are a perfect product to be used in conjunction with some of the Genesis acoustic wall panels or wall cladding treatments. Often it's a combination of acoustic wall & ceiling treatments, that together produce an ideal result.
Colours
✪ G-Zorb is available is a black, white and a number of other attractive colours.
Installation
The hex tiles are very light weight, this makes it so easy to lift them overhead, when installing on a ceiling.
✪ Method 1: Installed directly against the ceiling. The adhesive we provide with the product, is a one sided application. It is quick to apply and has instant grab, so having pressed the tile into position (with even pressure) it can be released straight away.
✪ Method 2: Suspended as an acoustic cloud. The height can be adjusted to suit.
